Commercial Play is Underway!

Fall of Rome game had its commercial launch in September, and we now have thousands of players registered and many games underway.

Your rivals can't get ahead of you by playing constantly as would be the case in MMORPG's. In Fall of Rome game, every player gets the same amount of turns: one every three days. So take about the same time you would have spent watching a DVD, or a bit of time each day like when you choose to read to instead experience a great online role playing game where you might lead the Huns to domination against your outmaneuvered rivals, or as King Arthur of the Celts, restore your people to the prominence they held before the Romans came. Each player issues a dozen or more distinct commands to his nobles, armies, spies, and heroes each turn. Sometimes you will issue tactics to your legions that will be engaged in combat, sometimes you might want a spy to steal gold from the treasury of a rival, or have a Baron usurp control of a border town. Issuing orders is done easily with simple mouse clicks on our beautiful maps of Dark Ages Europe. Once you load your first game, you will see a timer that shows how much time remains until the turn will be processed. The timer begins at 72 hours and counts down over the three days to 0:00 remaining. When that moment arrives, the game is locked for a couple minutes as all players' commands are executed simultaneously by our game servers, and then the game is updated, reflecting all actions by all players. The planning for the next turn now begins anew. Perhaps your King will have increased his holdings and power, a brigade of your best warriors has become legendary, and your brightest leader is now a famous warlord. This online strategy game is competitive. Each game has a single winner. After seeing your latest results, you may wish to leave some other players, allies and enemies alike in your game some messages ingame – it's very easy to do. New games start several times a week though, so when your first game is over after about two months of play, you'll just join the queue and be in your next game in the next couple days. Each time you play this multiplayer online strategy game will be different from the last. There is no one best strategy, and all kingdoms play differently and face different challenges. You can play many, many games for years and each will be memorable for its different set of challenges you overcame to place where you did.
